CNC Turning

CNC Turning In-Person

Learn to prepare a CNC (computer controlled machining) program for the Prototrak lathes in The Deep. We will use Fusion 360 to make a rook. The head is an off-the-shelf castle nut installed on threads turned on the lathe.

PREREQUITE: before taking this class, you must have a manual lathe credential at The Deep. You can get that by taking our Lathe 1: Manual training. Or if you have previous manual turning experience, get a checkoff for our machines.

REQUIRED PREPARATION: before class starts, please ensure you have an autodesk account with an education license for Fusion 360. This is free, but takes some time. If you are able to launch Fusion 360 (on either your laptop or a shop laptop), and have access to the Manufacture workspace, you are ready.
