                Screen Printing In-Person
Screen printing is a process for transfering graphic art onto fabric. It's best known for printing clothes, and can also print on paper, or any flat surface! It's a mix of digital and handskills, with the ability to quickly print many items.
This class is an introduction to screenprinting with machine-cut and applied vinyl stencils in Metropolis. We will go from a digital design, to vinyl, to ink on paper or cloth.
Preparation for class:
- bring a digital file of single-color artwork

- one color on a background, no gradients or shades
 - bold, chunky designs are easiest
 - small, disconnected areas without ink are hardest, think like a stencil designer
 - any typical image format, jpg, png, etc
 - if you know how to prepare a vector image file, dxf is best.
 - print size 3" to 10"

 - wear unprecious clothes, we're working with ink
 - optionally, bring an unprecious garment to print

- light colored fabric can take most ink colors
 - dark or black fabric will look best with white ink
