Lathe 1: Manual Machining In-Person
Come learn the basics of the prototrak lathe by making a pawn. Turning on the lathe is a subtractive manufacturing process in which the piece itself spins. You can use the lathe to make parts that are symmetrical along an axis. This class will cover principles of turning and some converstaional add-ons to make arcs and tapers.

Please wear shop appropriate attire: close-toed shoes, long hair tied back, no loose or dangling clothing.
Directions: Room 37-072, 70 Vassar St. Take the elevator to the basement of building 37 and turn left twice. The Deep will be in front of you, with a mural over the door.
